Fire Alarm Prompts Evacuations, Delays At San Jose Airport

Delays were relatively minor, but some passengers had to be re-screened, Mineta San Jose International Airport official said. (Breaking)

SAN JOSE, CA – A fire alarm at Gate 29 at Mineta San Jose International Airport this morning caused brief evacuations and a short delay for some passengers, a spokeswoman for the airport said.

The alarm went off at about 8:30 a.m. in the passenger boarding bridge at Gate 29, which is located in Terminal B, spokeswoman Vicki Day said.

It turned out to be a false alarm, however, Day said.

According to Day, passengers who had to be re-screened were delayed by roughly seven minutes. She didn't think there were any impacts to airport operations.
