Pedestrian Dies From Injuries In Saturday Collision
The 60-year-old man was struck near El Camino Real and Cezanne Drive in Sunnyvale.

SUNNYVALE, CA -- A pedestrian died from injuries he suffered in a collision with a car early Saturday morning in Sunnyvale, a Department of Public Safety official said Monday.
The victim was a 60-year-old man hit by a car near El Camino Real and Cezanne Drive shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, public safety Capt. Jeffrey Plecque said.
Officers and firefighters responded to the scene on a report of a collision between a car and pedestrian, Plecque said.

The man was transported to Stanford Hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, Plecque said. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to Plecque. No arrests were made.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision, he said.

The pedestrian's name won't be released by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office until his next of kin is notified.
The department's Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into the collision. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call investigator Dzanh Le at (408) 730-7109.
