Solano Co. Robbery Victim Shot In Leg: Sheriff's Office

BREAKING: Two armed, masked gunmen reportedly bound the victims with zip ties and stole their belongings, sheriff's officials say.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — The Solano County Sheriff's Office said a man was shot in the leg during an armed robbery on rural property near Vacaville Tuesday morning. The 21-year-old shooting victim was dropped off at the emergency room of the NorthBay VacaValley Hospital in Vacaville. Hospital staff called the sheriff's office and deputies arrived at the hospital around 7 a.m., Deputy Daniel Pratt said.

The shooting victim told deputies he and another person were tending property in the area of Gates Canyon Road west of Vacaville when two armed, masked gunmen bound them with zip ties and stole property that included a cellphone and cash, Pratt said.

The suspects were described as a white man and a darker skinned man, both in their 40s or 50s between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet. They were seen leaving the area in a late 90s or early 2000s light colored Ford F-150, Pratt said.

Sheriff's detectives found evidence during a search related to the robbery and shooting and are trying to identify the two suspects.

The victims were tending two separate areas of the property described as a large field and potential marijuana grow, Pratt said. The armed robbery occurred sometime between 2 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Pratt said.

The victim who was shot was treated and released.
