(Cupertino, CA) – On Friday, September 16, 2016, West Valley Community Services (WVCS) will host the 6th Annual Chefs of Compassion: Cooking for a Cause dinner, a unique fundraising event that challenges four accomplished Bay Area chefs to prepare a four-course dinner with ingredients found only in the WVCS food pantry. Proceeds from the event will support WVCS in its mission to combat hunger and homelessness in the community.
The event will begin at 5:30pm at the Computer History Museum (1401 N Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View), and will feature four stellar chefs: Chef Irfan Dama (Chef/Owner, Chef Dama’s Kitchen), Chef Jerome Ito (Chef/Owner, Go Fish Poke Bar), Chef Kevin Kohlmann (Executive Chef, Bon Appetit), and Chef Jessie Lugo (Sous Chef, Alexander’s Steakhouse San Francisco).
The competing chefs will be judged on a five-point scale of taste, presentation, and creative use of only food pantry ingredients by a distinguished panel of judges featuring Chef Alexander Hult (Hult’s Restaurant), Chef Isamu Kanai (Bushido Izakaya), Chef Kathleen Ko (Culinary Coach), and Chef David Wiesner (Siena Bistro).
