What Should Go in Vallco Shopping Mall?

Vallco Shopping Mall has been in a decline since the 90’s. Ownership has changed several times, as well as the name, renovations have been made, yet the occupancy rate is still very low. We’d like to get your suggestions on the types of businesses you would like to see there to help Vallco get its mojo back.

Much of Vallco’s decline could probably be attributed to its struggle to compete with the higher end malls nearby like Valley Fair, Santana Row, and Stanford Shopping Center. However, Vallco still has some things going for it: the movie theatre, the bowling alley, the ice skating rink, several popular restaurants, the new Bay Club, and some unique shops you won’t find at the malls mentioned above.

Maybe there are shops at one of the other malls that you would like to see at Vallco since its closer to where you live or work, or because it’s not as crowded as the other malls. Or maybe it should change direction completely. It could convert to an outlet mall, international shopping center (think Japantown + Chinatown + IndiaTown, etc...), or even to offices, medical offices, classrooms, etc. Those are just some ideas to get you thinking.
