BREAKING: Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner has identified a woman who
was struck and killed last week in Santa Clara by the same Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority bus she had just gotten off of. Annette Marie Barrientos, 56, suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a VTA bus on Thursday at about 6:20 p.m. near the intersections of the El Camino Real and Railroad Avenue.
According to police, after exiting the middle doors and initially walking away from the bus, Barrientos turned around and ran after it, before somehow being struck by it. She was taken to hospital where she was
pronounced dead, police said.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with more information about the fatality is asked to call Santa Clara police traffic investigator Dave Machado at 408-615-4764.
