• Offshore - Big Yellow on the Kelp - 6/20/26 (bdoutdoors.com) — If you’re thinking about heading offshore from Dana Point, anglers are already finding yellowtail under kelp paddies within about 10 miles of the beach, despite tricky bait and parking conditions at the launch. One recent trip produced a single but impressive yellowtail plus bass and barracuda, with improving midday visibility making kelp hunting easier. Local waters are active, so consider getting out soon.
