Power Back In Most of Danville, San Ramon: PG&E

A large outage affected the neighborhoods south of Camino Tassajara in Danville down to Crow Canyon Road in San Ramon, and east of I-680.

DANVILLE, CA — Power has been restored to all but 125 customers after 3,298 Pacific Gas & Electric customers in Danville and San Ramon lost power, PG&E reports.

The power went out in the neighborhoods south of Camino Tassajara in Danville down to Crow Canyon Road in San Ramon, and east of I-680, according to an online PG&E map. As of 2:10 p.m., only a small pocket surrounding the intersection of Morninghome Road and Sycamore Valley Road East remains without power.

Smaller outages affecting under 50 people were reported on Glendora Circle in Danville, and in the area around Monte Vista High School. 20 customers are said to be affected, and power is estimated to be restored at 3 p.m. MVHS did not lose power, a district representative told Patch. Greenbrook Elementary School in Danville lost power, but power was restored at roughly 1:50 p.m.

The outage started at 12:38 p.m. Wednesday. PG&E initially predicted full restoration by 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The Town of Danville acknowledged the outage on Facebook, and advised residents to treat any flashing or dark traffic signals as a four-way stop.

The cause of the outage remains under investigation, PG&E said. It is likely due to unusually wintry weather. As of 1:20 p.m., it is 43 degrees in Danville, with winds of 13 miles an hour, according to the National Weather Service. A Freeze Warning is in effect in both Danville and San Ramon until Friday, and widespread frost, hail, and rain have been reported.
