Participants were awarded medals at the finish line by Miss Greater East Bay Alissa Anderegg.

DANVILLE, CA — About 60 children took part in the Danville Children's Triathlon 2018 Sunday. The swim-bike-run event, hosted by the Town of Danville, is intended to cultivate an interest in sports and triathlons.

The annual non-competitive event was held at Monte Vista High School. Children ages seven and eight swam four laps, biked one mile and ran one lap around the track. Older children were asked to swim six laps, bike two miles and run two laps around the track.

Monte Vista High graduate and Miss Greater East Bay Alissa Anderegg gave participants medals at the finish line, town officials told Patch.
