Alamo Second Grader Qualifies For National Geography Bee
Cristian Cruz of Rancho Romero Elementary School is one of the youngest students ever to compete in the national championships.

ALAMO, CA — A 2nd grader in Alamo qualified for the final round of the National Geography Bee, and will travel to Virginia in June for the competition.
Cristian Cruz, a student at Rancho Romero Elementary School, competed against 3rd and 4th graders in regional competitions to win a spot in the Elementary and Middle School National Championships, and was one of the youngest competitors in his division.
The geography bee is run by International Academic Competitions and will be held June 1-4 in Arlington, Virginia. Other buzzer-based and exam-based competitions will include the International Geography Bee, the National History Bee, the National Science Bee, the U.S. History Bee, the United States Geography Championships, the National History Bowl and the U.S. Academic Bee.
