Danville Middle Schooler Wins $10,000 on Popular Baking Show Competition
Ryan Wilson beat out two other kids for the coveted championship title.
DANVILLE, CA — A Danville middle schooler’s incredible baking skills helped him win first place and $10,000 on the Cooking Channel’s “Sugar Showdown.” Ryan Wilson, 12, beat out two other kids during the intense cupcake challenge, which aired Tuesday night.
“When they called my name it didn't feel like it was really happening, I felt like I was dreaming,” Ryan told Patch.
Ryan, who attends Los Cerros Middle School in Danville, recently started his own YouTube tutorial channel to demonstrate baking tips and has competed once before on the Food Network’s “Kids Baking Championship.”
