Update:

Firefighters have contained a two-alarm vegetation fire in Danville this afternoon, a San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District inspector said. Firefighters responded at 1:24 p.m. to a report of a vegetation fire in the 400 block of El Alamo, near the Mt. Diablo Trail, Fire Inspector Natalie Probert said.

Probert said arriving fire crews upgraded the fire to a second alarm based on the rate of spread, terrain and the potential for the fire to threaten nearby structures.

As of around 2:40 p.m., Probert said firefighters had stopped the forward spread of the flames, which had consumed roughly two acres of vegetation, and were remaining on scene to mop up and ensure any remaining embers are extinguished.

“Fire crews will be rotating through the next few hours to ensure fire is completely out,” Probert says.
