City of Danville Releases 'Shop Local Survey' for Residents

Danville residents are encouraged to complete a 'Shop Local Survey' and offer feedback on residents' shopping and dining preferences.

From the Town of Danville:

Danville residents are encouraged to complete a 'Shop Local Survey' and offer feedback on residents’ shopping and dining preferences. Results from the Town of Danville’s survey will be used in an action plan to assist merchants in making changes to the needs of the local community. The survey will be shared with the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce and business owners.

“Increased competition from online retailers has greatly impacted brick-and-mortar businesses on America’s Main Streets including Danville’s Hartz Avenue,” said Nat Rojanasathira, Assistant to the Town Manager. “The results from the Shop Local Survey for Residents will help businesses understand the changes they need to make to meet the needs and desires of Danville consumers.”

In June 2016, the Town of Danville adopted a Comprehensive Economic Development Plan, which set forth objectives and strategies to support economic vitality in Danville. The plan reinforced the need to enhance retail in Danville, especially in the Downtown Business District. Data shows that for every $100 spent locally, $68 is reinvested back into the Danville community, supporting schools, public safety, infrastructure and quality of life.

The survey runs from September 1, 2016 through September 30, 2016. Survey respondents will receive a reusable Danville shopping bag and be entered into a drawing for a $100 mobile Danville gift card. The survey is available here.
