Community Presbyterian Church Hosts Third Annual ‘Serve Day’
Volunteers of all ages are needed. Find out how you can help.

DANVILLE, CA — The Community Presbyterian Church in Danville will send 2,000 volunteers into the community in October to help those in need. On Serve Day weekend, the popular church cancels their weekend services so they can volunteer their time. This year, they will team up with Project Peace to reach those who need it the most.
"Serve Day weekend is what happens when the church leaves the building," CPC's Lead Pastor Tyler Scott said. "We cancel our weekend services and meet the needs of our community. For many people, it's their favorite weekend of the year. Our theme this year - Everybody Always - encourages us to love people without limits, and serve with no strings attached. It’s truly a beautiful thing to see."
In an effort to rally parishioners to volunteer, the church recently hosted Bob Goff, a best-selling author and founder of human rights organization Love Does, who shared his message about loving others, showing up and being available with a crowd of about 1300 guests.

Those who prefer to volunteer at the church can help make blankets and bracelets, sort crayons, and build bicycles.
"We are excited to be serving so many of the organizations we have in the past and are especially thrilled to have added several new ones, including Together We Rise, an organization that provides bikes to foster kids," said Deana Dickerson, Director of Missions.
