Danny Carpentier Balough finished second, in the Mens Under 20 Division at this year's (2017) New York Marathon. Over 73,000 registered to run and over 51, 000 finished the race which was chilly and rainy. This was only his third marathon. He registered a personal best of 3:14 and also qualified for the Boston Marathon in April 2018. Danny is a 2016 Monte Vista HS grad where he played varsity football. He is spending this semester as a student at NYU. Danny is the son of Joan-Elisse Carpentier and Major General ( US Army, Ret.) Dan Balough, of Alamo.
