Danville Appoints Tai Williams As New Town Manager
Williams, who has been with the town since 1996, succeeds Joe Calabrigo on July 1.

DANVILLE, CA — The Danville Town Council appointed Tai Williams as its next town manager during its Tuesday meeting. Williams has served as assistant town manager since 2017, and worked for the town since 1996. On July 1, she will succeed Joe Calabrigo, who has served as town manager since 1992.
Williams first joined the town as a land use planner, according to a town news release. Since 2001, she has served executive roles in the town's transportation, economic development, administrative services, and development services departments.
Williams has implemented a number of new initiatives, including launching Danville Town Talks, and introducing internal performance tools to strengthen service delivery and accountability. She also played a key role in securing more than $100 million in transportation funding for the TRAFFIX school bus program and the I-680 Auxiliary Lanes traduce congestion and enhance safety and livability on Danville streets.

Williams has received multiple honors for her leadership, including Employee of the Year and the Shared Leadership Award. She holds a B.S. in city and regional planning from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and an MBA from Saint Mary's College of California.
"Tai will ensure a smooth transition from our current Town Manager to her new role. Her experience as the assistant town manager will help maintain continuity in leadership and services for the community,” Danville Mayor Renee Morgan said in a statement. “Joe’s succession planning, combined with Tai Williams expertise and dedication to our community, will facilitate a smooth transition between two exceptional civic leaders.”

The town will present a proclamation to Calabrigo and celebrate his 32 years of service during his final meeting as town manager on June 17. Members of the public are invited to attend and meet Williams at the conclusion of the 5 p.m. meeting.
