Danville Church, Schools Raise $62K For Camp Fire Victims

"It's beautiful to see people come together to help those in their time of need."

DANVILLE, CA — A popular Danville church has collected more than $62,000 in gift cards and cash donations for Butte County wildfire victims. The Community Presbyterian Church, Community Presbyterian Preschool and San Ramon Valley Christian Academy launched the fundraiser last week and organizers say the response from the community has been overwhelming.

“We have been blown away by the response, and more cards and checks continue to come in,” Deana Dickerson, Director of Missions at CPC said.

Over the last year, the church has donated $122,000 in fire disaster relief in California.

“Every bit counts,” Lead Pastor Tyler Scott said. “One group of T-bird football families pooled their resources and donated $800 in gift cards. And we’ve had other individuals walk in with a check for several thousand dollars. It’s beautiful to see people come together to help those in their time of need.”
