Will Danville Close Streets For Outdoor Dining?
The Danville Town Council will consider allowing restaurants to apply for outdoor seating permits during the coronavirus pandemic.
DANVILLE, CA — The Danville Town Council has scheduled a special meeting Monday to discuss the possibility of closing down streets to allow for safer outdoor dining and social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The council will consider granting restaurants the ability to apply for temporary outdoor seating permits to allow for dining areas and sales of alcoholic drinks in adjacent private parking lots and patio spaces. There would be some road closures for restaurants that cannot expand into such areas, the town said.
“We’ve been developing this plan for the last several weeks and advocating with the county to allow for outdoor dining to be restored,” said Danville Economic Development Manager Jill Bergman in a news release. “Once the green light is given, we are going to be ready to go.”
