Danville Election Nomination Filing Period Extended

The extension is a result of the non-filing of a councilmember.

DANVILLE, CA — A municipal election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 for three seats on the Danville Town Council. The nomination period for filing nomination papers for Town Council has been extended to Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. The extension is a result of the non-filing of Danville Councilmember Mike Doyle. Nomination papers must be obtained from the City Clerk during normal business hours and filed no later than August 17, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. As of the close of business on August 12, 2016, nomination papers have been filed by Renee Morgan, Newell Arnerich, and Lisa Blackwell.

To be eligible for a seat on the Danville Town Council, a candidate must live within Danville Town limits and be a Danville registered voter. There is no filing fee for nomination papers; however, there is a $319 fee to cover the cost of printing the Candidate’s Statement of Qualifications in the Voter Information Guide. Candidates must also file a Statement of Economic Interests and certain campaign statements.

Individuals interested in participating in the election should contact Danville City Clerk Marie Sunseri at (925)314-3401 to schedule an appointment to obtain necessary nomination papers and candidate forms.
