DANVILLE, CA — The Danville Girls Chorus has a busy few days coming up. On Tuesday, members of the nonprofit, the independent music choir for young girls kicked off the East Bay Women’s Conference at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek.

The conference, presented by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau in conjunction with John Muir Health and Stanford Medicine Children’s Health, includes a mix of keynotes speakers, interactive seminars, author signings, and much more. Keynote speakers include Katie Sowers, the first woman and openly gay coach to coach in a Super Bowl, and Princess Sarah Culberson, an internationally known speaker whose story is being adapted into a movie by Disney.

This is the second year in a row that the Danville Girls Chorus will open the conference.

“We are honored to kick off the East Bay Women’s Conference for the second consecutive year with our Concert Choir performing an engaging rendition of ‘High Hopes’ by Panic at the Disco,” DGC Artistic Director Ken Abrams told Patch. “We hope this fun and uplifting song will inspire women attending the conference to ‘shoot for the stars’ in all their endeavors. As an all-girl choir, we are excited to support a conference that enriches women’s personal and professional lives and encourages young girls to achieve their dreams.”

“I am excited to sing at the women’s conference at Lesher!” said choir member Madeline Ott. “The ‘High Hopes’ song is fast and fun, and we have worked really hard to make this performance special with our choreography.”
