Danville Hosting Business Info Sessions for Plastic Bag Ban
Danville ordinance to take effect July 2016

Announcement information submitted by Town of Danville:
Business owners are invited to attend one of two informational sessions on how businesses can implement the Town of Danville Plastic Bag Ban ordinance. The ordinance, approved by the Town Council in late 2014, prohibits the use of single-use plastic carryout bags. In order to give businesses time to prepare and learn about the ordinance, it does not go into effect until July 1, 2016.
To help business owners learn about the adopted ordinance and how to implement it by the 2016 date the Town is holding two information sessions from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. on March 12, 2015 and April 9, 2015. The sessions, held at the Veterans Memorial Building, 115 E. Prospect Avenue will provide an overview of the ordinance as well as information on recycled paper or reusable bag purchasing options. Attendees will also receive 20 complimentary resuable “Shop Danville” bags to give to their customers.
