Danville Man Charged With 12 Counts Of Burglary: DA

Trevor Hudson, 25, is charged with 11 felony counts of first-degree residential burglary in connection to break-ins in Moraga and Danville.

DANVILLE, CA —A Danville man was charged with 13 counts of residential burglary following a string of break-ins in November.

Trevor Hudson, 25, was charged with 11 felony counts of first-degree residential burglary, four of which allegedly occurred when a person was present, according to charging documents from the Contra Costa District Attorney. Hudson was also charged with one count of second-degree burglary, and a count of possession of over $950 worth of stolen golf equipment from the Moraga Country Club. The alleged burglaries were committed between Oct. 30 and Nov. 18.

Hudson was arrested Nov. 18 on suspicion of committing 12 burglaries in Moraga and two in Danville, according to the Moraga Police Department. Police said they had been receiving reports of residential break-ins and theft of golf equipment from the Moraga Country Club. Police say they located video evidence of the suspect and his car around the time of one of the burglaries.

Police were able to return many of the stolen items to their original owners.

"These crimes were solved due to the efforts and tenacity of our officers and our counterparts in Danville," Moraga Police Chief Jon King said in a news release. "It was definitely a team effort…the different officers who took the reports, connected them together, scoured the area for video evidence, arrested the suspect and recovered the property. I appreciate the hard work of our Moraga Police team who worked to solve these cases, arrest the suspect and recover the property stolen in these crimes."

King noted that most of the burglaries occurred when garages were left open or unlocked, and urged residents to install cameras and lock their homes.

Following the charges, Hudson was taken back into custody at the West County Detention Facility with a bail of $740,000 as of Nov. 30, according to Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office records reviewed by Danville-San Ramon.
