Danville Student Donates 1500+ School Supplies To Foster Children, Underserved Students
Monte Vista student Srishti Mazumder gathered and donated essential school supplies to more than 250 elementary and middle school students.

DANVILLE, CA — A Monte Vista High School senior has helped donate approximately 1,500 school supplies to foster care organizations and more than 250 elementary and middle school students.
In June 2024, Srishti Mazumder founded Seeds of Learning, a nonprofit dedicated to helping underserved students who lack access to basic materials. While tutoring math, Mazumder noticed that tutoring primarily serves students who can afford it. She was inspired to find a way to help students without the same advantages, and decided to begin by providing basic school supplies.
Mamzuder contacted over 25 schools and four foster care organizations to understand their specific needs, and worked with community partners like Fostering Wishes and the Alameda County Foster Parent Association to ensure that supplies were distributed to those who need them most.

Mazumder personally delivered donations of notebooks, binders, pencils, folders, and backpacks to schools like Buckhalter Elementary School in Oakland and Oak Grove Middle School in Concord, and to Fostering Wishes and the Alameda County Foster Parent Association.
“These supplies represent hope and a fresh start for so many children,” said Tophe Enerio of Fostering Wishes, an Alamo nonprofit dedicated to supporting foster children and families.
