Danville Teacher Chosen As Teacher Of The Year Finalist

One teacher from the San Ramon Valley Unified School District has been selected to compete.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A San Ramon Valley Unified School District teacher is among four teachers chosen as the 2017-2018 Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year (TOY) finalists. Danville teacher Marissa Ware, Paula Raj of West Contra Costa Unified School District; Kari Stewart of the Walnut Creek School District and Tom Trowbridge, Mt. Diablo Unified School District were all selected.

Ware will vie against the others for a chance to represent Contra Costa County in the California State TOY Program. Ware has been teaching at John Baldwin Elementary in Danville for six years.

In September 28, 2017, all of the original 22 Teacher of the Year professionals will be honored at the annual Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year dinner celebration.

The county’s TOY program is directed by the Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE).
