Danville Town Offices To Move After 37 Years
The town's municipal services and police department will move a few feet over to a 30,000 square-foot space at 500 La Gonda Way.

DANVILLE, CA — The Danville town offices and police station are moving next door after more than 37 years in the same location, the town announced Friday.
On Nov. 15, town workers are moving from 510 La Gonda Way to 500 La Gonda Way, a roughly 30,000 square-foot property the town purchased in December 2019 for $12.5 million.
Town offices will occupy 20,000 square feet on the ground floor of the office building, and the Danville Police Department will be spread out through 18,000 square feet of the same office building.
The new space will include the Danville Police Department, the Town Permit Center, Development Services (Planning, Building, Code Enforcement, Engineering and Transportation), Administrative Services (Finance, Human Resources and IT), and General Government (Town Council, Town Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk, Business and Economic Development and Community Outreach).

The move was made to accommodate a municipal workforce that had outgrown its original space.
“Our current offices were built in 1973, and acquired by the Town shortly after incorporation,” Danville Town Manager Joe Calabrigo said in a statement. “It was intended as an interim location, and as Town services have expanded over the past 40 years, the current space is crowded and in need of renovation. The move allows the Town to relocate to a newer, larger, and permanent location and eliminates the need to retrofit and upgrade a 50-year-old building.”

Town offices will be closed Monday, Nov. 14 to accommodate the move, though police services will still operate on the 14th. Everything will be up and running starting Tuesday, Nov. 15. The town is planning an open house at some point in January.
