"We are so excited to host this Downtown Danville favorite," organizers said. "We have added free tech race shirts for all paid registrants. We also have some new and exciting prizes we will be rolling out, as well."
For area motorists: Be prepared for street closures. Police will control traffic along the 5K and 10K routes with full or partial lane closures, as well as rolling closures of streets and intersections, the Town of Danville said.
Affected roads will include:
- Railroad Avenue
- Hartz Avenue
- Danville Boulevard
- San Ramon Valley Boulevard
- Camino Ramon
- Fostoria Way
Railroad Avenue's closure will begin at 4 a.m., while other closures are set for 7 a.m. All closures along the route will reopen at roughly 10 a.m., once runners have passed, officials said. Downtown closures for the start/finish lines will reopen by 12 p.m.
Sycamore Valley Road will close at Camino Ramon for short durations between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. to provide a safe crossing for runners, the town said. Westbound Camino Tassajara will be diverted from Sycamore Valley Road to Diablo Road during the closure.
Runners also will use the Iron Horse Trail, and traffic control will be provided at key, trail intersections. (See maps below.)
