Ex-Cub Scout Leader Accused of Downloading Child Porn Due in Court Today for Preliminary Hearing
Forty-year-old Michael Vawter pleaded not guilty to possession of child pornography at an earlier hearing. He'll appear in court again this morning.

Today will be the preliminary hearing for Former Cub Scout leader Michael Vawter, 40, who is accused of downloading child pornography.
Vawter was arrested in March after San Ramon police received an anonymous tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's CyberTipline.
Police served a warrant and found pornographic videos of children on his work computer at CCI Financial where he was working as an insurance broker. He was fired from his position at the San Ramon company.

Police say that they have thus far found no evidence that Vawter videotaped or had any contact with local children. The 187 child pornography videos found in his work laptop appear to be previously recorded by someone else and distributed on the Internet.
He has pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.
