DANVILLE, CA — Danville police officers arrested a man they say was a felon in possession of a firearm and an unserialized rifle.

In June, a Danville police officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle on Diablo Road to investigate a possible DUI, according to the Danville Police Department. The officer investigating saw a firearm under the driver’s seat. The officer searched the car and found a Ruger pistol, an unserialized AR-15-style rifle, and a loaded magazine.

The driver, whom police did not name, was arrested on multiple charges, including driving under the influence, possession of an unserialized firearm, and a felon in possession of a firearm. The suspect was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. Police continue to investigate.
