Finding a Home on a Large Lot

A search for homes on one acre parcels revealed limited choices in San Ramon and Dublin.

Tired of hearing your neighbor's phone ring from your own kitchen table?

Maybe it's time to search for a home with some space between houses.

If you are looking in the Tri-Valley you may have an easier time if you don't look in San Ramon and Dublin. In those two cities, there are homes on the market with privacy, but not one acre parcels.  Here are the specifics:

Danville

New on the market as of last weekend is my listing for 490 Clipper Hill Rd. (see the virtual tour). This home is in westside Danville. It is just a half mile from downtown Danville, yet it feels like country on this one acre parcel of towering oaks.  The home is 2,700 square feet with high ceilings and three bedrooms plus a large loft area.  It is open Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. , or call me at 925-285-1728 for a showing.  The price is $1,049,000.

Alamo

An adorable home behind a picket fence is at 191 Oak Rd., offered by Ron Gatti of J. Rockcliff Realtors. This home has lovely views and a mostly flat one acre lot. It is zoned for two horses with easy access to riding trails. The house features granite counters, dual pane windows, and hardwood floors. Call Ron for a showing at 925-596-1972. The price is $1,199,000.

San Ramon

408 Bridle Ct. is a listing offered by Lisa Doyle of . With a generous half acre backing to open space, it was as close as I could find in San Ramon on my search for homes with a one acre parcel.  This 3-year-old Davidon home has four bedrooms, three baths and is 3,906 square feet. It includes upgraded cabinets with granite slabs and stainless appliances in the kitchen. The backyard has a saltwater sport pool with solar. For showings, call Lisa at 925-855-4046. It is priced at $1,499,900.

Dublin

7440 Tassajara Rd. is offered by Jim Martin of Intero Real Estate. I couldn't find a house with an acre in Dublin—or even a half acre—there's no such thing on the market right now. However, this home comes with 12.5 acres and has the potential to develop the land. Move into the four bedroom single story home, keep an acre for yourself, so you don't hear the neighbor's phone ringing—and develop the rest.  For information please call Jim at 510-651-0617.  The price is $3,875,000.

Pleasanton

403 Oak Lane is offered by George Marment of Four Corners Real Estate Group.  This home has a beautiful setting in Castlewood and is one of the few full acre lots on the golf course. Located on a private road, this is a single story home with an elevator from the garage below and lovely views from the large picture windows. For showings call George at 916-300-9983.  The price is $995,000.

Livermore

A gorgeous single-level home sits at 1651 Quail Ct., offered by Lillian Cozart of Re/Max Accord. It is almost 4,500 square feet, with five bedrooms plus an office and 3.5 bathrooms. It is situated on one acre of beautifully landscaped grounds with in-ground pool and outdoor kitchen. For showings call Lillian at 925-580-4549.  The price is $1,250,000.
