Small Plane Crashes In Livermore
A plane crashed in a field Wednesday afternoon just outside the airport, police said. No one was hurt.
LIVERMORE, CA — A single-engine fixed-wing plane crashed Wednesday afternoon just outside Livermore Municipal Airport, according to the Livermore Police Department and the city of Livermore.
At around 1:25 p.m., police received a report that a plane was down north of Jack London Boulevard and west of the airport runway, police said. The aircraft landed in a vegetated area on the west side of the airfield near Jack London Boulevard, the city said. The plane was only occupied by the pilot, who was not injured.
The crash was caused by engine failure, according to FAA data obtained by the Livermore Vine.

There was a heavy police and fire presence Wednesday as first responders assessed the scene. First responders determined there was no threat to public safety following an on-site assessment, the city said.
The National Transportation Safety Board conducted an initial review and authorized removal of the aircraft. The NTSB is launching a formal investigation into the cause of the incident, the city said.
