Kiwanis-Danville July 4 Parade Accepting Registration Applications
The parade along Hartz Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard receives up to 40,000 viewers each year.
DANVILLE, CA — Danville will celebrate America and its educators this July 4 for the Kiwanis-Danville Parade. The 2023 parade theme will be “Celebrating Our Educators,” and the Grand Marshal will be Chavonta Edington, a band teacher at Diablo Vista Middle School who was named the Contra County Office of Education’s Teacher of the Year in September.
The parade will take place on July 4 from 9 to noon in downtown Danville along Hartz Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard. It will start at San Ramon Valley High School and end at Town and County Drive.
The parade has been run and organized by the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley since 1975, and regularly attracts 30,000-40,000 spectators, according to the club.

Parade organizers are accepting applications for marchers. All parade entrants are required to attend a 45-60 minute meeting to pick up registration packets and discuss procedures. Entrants can attend meetings on Wednesday, June 21 at either noon or 6 p.m. at Danville Town Meeting
Hall at 201 Front Street.
