Danville's COVID-19 data, concerns about health order violations and an Oct. 17 altercation prompted the town to call off Hartz Avenue road closures this weekend from Diablo Road to Prospect Avenue. The road closures were originally instituted to provide businesses with more flexibility in use of outdoor space to more safely serve customers outdoors.

The Danville Town Council is slated to meet Tuesday to discuss the implications of COVID-19 on local business operations. The council will reexamine road closures along Hartz and discuss how the town can work with businesses in the months to come.
