Nearly 8K Lose Power In Danville Monday, Some Still Without Power
A huge outage hit Danville and Alamo before an earthquake, and a few days before a planned outage in the same area.

DANVILLE, CA — 7,875 PG&E customers in Alamo and Danville lost power Monday night, Bay City News reported. As of Tuesday morning, 63 customers in the area are still without power.
PG&E said that power should be restored by 10 p.m., and it is still investigating the cause of the outage. PG&E spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian told Patch that the outage is likely due to Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings that automatically turn off power within one-tenth of a second if there is a wildfire hazard, like a tree branch striking a power line.
The outage comes at the same time as a 3.0-magnitude earthquake centered in Alamo rattled the area. It also comes just before a planned service outage in Alamo. 299 Alamo customers will be without power from Wednesday at 10 p.m. to Thursday at 3 a.m. as crews replace an electric pole at Las Trampas Road and the Iron Horse Trail.
