DANVILLE, CA — Danville police recovered over 100 pieces of stolen mail and drug paraphernalia following a chase along I-680.

Last Thursday, Danville officers responded to a report of mail theft on Meadowbrook Lane, according to a town news release. Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield. A pursuit followed, aided by a STARR 3 Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office helicopter.

The pursuit ended on I-680 when the suspect vehicle was disabled after colliding with another car. Two suspects were taken into custody by Danville officers, with the help of the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol.
