DANVILLE, CA — 29,500 San Ramon Valley Unified School District students returned to class on Thursday.

"We are all so excited to have our students back to school. Our staff members have been working all summer to make sure our schools would be ready for the first day back," SRVUSD Superintendent Dr. John Malloy said in a statement. "As we start the new school year, we remain committed to ensuring that each and every student thrives. The first day of school was wonderful, filled with energy and excitement from staff, students and families alike for the year to come."
