Police Host ‘Drug Take Back Day’ In Danville

Residents can drop unwanted prescriptions for free.

DANVILLE, CA — Danville residents are invited to drop any unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs during a free and anonymous drug disposal event on Oct. 27. The event, hosted by the Danville Police Department, will be held between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Danville Town Offices.

“We are pleased to be able to provide this event for our community,” Danville Police Chief Allan Shields said. “It encourages residents to dispose of unwanted pharmaceuticals, reducing the possibility of abuse or theft of drugs.

Officials said disposing of unused medicines by “flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash poses potential safety and health hazards.”
