Robert Storer Sworn In Danville Mayor, Karen Stepper As Vice Mayor
The installation ceremony Tuesday also recognized many community leaders and staff.
DANVILLE, CA — Robert Storer was sworn in for his third term as mayor of Danville Tuesday at the town’s 41st Mayor’s Installation and Community Service Awards, succeeding Newell Arnerich. Karen Stepper was sworn in as vice mayor.
Storer also served as mayor in 2014 and 2019, and has served on the Danville Town Council since 2009. He was up for re-election this fall, though no one challenged him or Karen Stepper, and the Town Council voted to cancel the election.
Storer has served in a number of leadership roles in Danville and Contra Costa County, including three terms on the Planning Commission (2006-2009), the Danville Design Review Board (2006-2009), Heritage Resources (2006-2009) the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce (2006-2009), the Town of Danville Finance Committee (2009-present), and many more.

Vice Mayor Stepper, who has served on the Town Council since 2002, serves on a number of committees. She also served on the San Ramon Valley Unified School District Board of Education for nine years.

She is the current chair of the Contra Costa County Mayors Conference, director of the Emergency Preparedness Citizens Corp Council, co-chair of the East Bay Economic Development Alliance, and many more. In Danville, she is involved with the Mustang Soccer League, San Ramon Valley Historical Society, the San Ramon Valley Exchange Club, and the Museum of the San Ramon Valley. See here to learn more.

Awards of Merit
Andro Stolarzyk: Stolarzyk is a Cub Scout and Eagle Scout attending Los Cerros Middle School who has volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Feed My Starving Children, highway cleanups, and serving holiday meals.
Lee Halverson: Halverson has provided extensive service for veterans activities, particularly in fundraising and operating the Veterans Memorial Building and Veterans Museum.
Bob Hammer: Hammer founded the “Have a Ball Foundation,” which has hosted golf tournaments that have raised millions of dollars for cancer since 2005.
FOR the Valley Team: The volunteer organization helped organize the town’s 9/11 remembrance.
SRVFPD Chief Paige Meyer: Chief Meyer was recognized for spearheading the Public Safety for Mental Health Response Project and working to improve care and advocacy for community members suffering from mental health crises.
Michael K. Shimansky Community Service Award
Sonia Sharma: Sharma, 14, co-founded Project emPower with her Girl Scout troop, which has run self-defense courses. Sharma organized trainings in Danville and Dublin to help SRVUSD and Dublin P.E. teachers teach self-defense.

Tim Argenti: Argenti, the community relations manager of Republic Services of Contra Costa County, was recognized for his “resourcefulness, generosity and compassion in serving the Danville community as a strong pillar, and man of great integrity and wisdom.”
