SEE: Firefighters Extinguish Danville Home Fire, Wildfire

No injuries were reported, though photos indicate a home was seriously damaged.

DANVILLE, CA — A quick, multi-agency response to Thursday afternoon house and vegetation fires in Danville prevented other nearby homes from catching fire, firefighters say.

No injuries were reported.

A home fire was first reported around 3:45 p.m. and the nearby Santiago Fire was reported five minutes later as a 1- to 2-acre vegetation fire in the area of Santiago and Willowview courts.

Residents of the threatened neighborhood were evacuated. The fire was contained about an hour later.

The fire spread up a hillside leading to a residential neighborhood, photos show. One home was significantly damaged.

Cal Fire, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and Alameda County Fire Department all participated in the firefight.

The cause remains under investigation.
