See How Much Rain Danville Got Tuesday

DANVILLE, CA — November is off to a cold and rainy start in Danville. A cold front from the Gulf of Alaska graced the Bay Area with some much-needed rain Tuesday morning. The front also brought high winds, overnight temperatures in the 30s and 40s, and even a dusty of snow in the Sierra, which remains under a Winter Storm Warning until 8 p.m. Wednesday. As of Wednesday, the storm has mostly passed and moved south to the LA area, where rain and high winds were reported in the morning. Still, skies are cloudy and showers remain possible, according to AccuWeather.

In Danville, 0.25 inches of rain were recorded on Tuesday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. This was slightly low for the Bay Area: nearby, Dublin recorded 0.28 inches, though Orinda recorded 0.66 inches and Mt. Diablo recorded 0.55 inches.

San Francisco recorded 0.30 inches, and Oakland recorded 0.25 inches.

Totals were generally highest at high elevations or near the coast, and lower inland.

The North Bay saw lower totals - just 0.19 inches in Novato and 0.08 inches in Petaluma - yet the highest recorded rainfall Tuesday was on Mt. Tamalpais, according to the National Weather Service.

More rain is forecast for next week, including on Election Day. In Danville, there is a 58% chance of precipitation Saturday, a 68% chance Monday, a 60% chance Tuesday, and a 55% chance Wednesday.
