SRVUSD & Diablo Valley College To Start Dual Enrollment Program

District sophomores and juniors will be able to complete coursework to prepare them for construction trades.

DANVILLE, CA — SRVUSD is partnering with Diablo Valley College to offer a dual enrollment program in construction trades, the district announced. Students will take college-level coursework at DVC’s Pleasant Hill Campus while still completing their usual high school coursework. Current SRVUSD sophomores and juniors will be able to apply in the spring.

The new program is part of the district’s Career Technical Education initiative, which aims to provide skills for careers in technical and vocational fields. Another initiative allows juniors and seniors to enroll in a shortened schedule to attend a welding job training program at Las Positas College.

“Our CTE program is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn the ever-evolving landscape of career opportunities and help them achieve their career goals,” SRVUSD Superintendent John Malloy, said in a statement. “I thank our CTE teachers and program leaders for inspiring students to explore their interests and thrive in new educational environments.”
