Suspect At Large After Ditching Stolen Truck In Danville
Police used a helicopter to search the area in the late afternoon and evening.

DANVILLE, CA — A stolen truck spotted in Danville prompted two searches Wednesday, officials said. At about 4 p.m., the town’s Automated License Plate Recognition system alerted police to the 1992 Ford F150 pickup truck, which had been reported stolen from Antioch.
Officers found the truck near the intersection of Danville Boulevard and El Cerro Way. Authorities said the driver turned onto Ramon Court, ditched the vehicle and ran through several backyards, prompting a manhunt. Authorities used the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office helicopter to help search for the suspect but officers were unable to find him.
Several hours later, a resident reported a suspicious subject in the vicinity of El Cerro and La Gonda Way, prompting a second search, which was eventually called off. The truck was recovered and the suspect, who is described as a man with black hair, remains at large. He was last seen wearing a brown shirt and black pants.
