Thousands Without Power Across Tri-Valley Amid Planned, Unplanned Outages
PG&E shut off power to hundreds in the eastern hills, while over 2,000 Tri-Valley customers face unplanned outages.
DANVILLE, CA — A total of 2,864 Tri-Valley customers are without power Monday morning due to a mix of Public Safety Power Shut-Offs in the Dublin and Livermore hills, and unplanned outages in Danville, San Ramon, and Pleasanton. A total of 30,000 PG&E customers are without power Monday morning throughout the Bay Area.
The largest unplanned outage in the Tri-Valley is affecting 1,632 customers in the Diablo neighborhood of Danville, east of 1-680 and up to the foothills of Mt. Diablo. 408 other customers living throughout Danville are also affected. In Pleasanton, 330 customers on both sides of I-680 near the Castlewood Country Club and the Callippe Preserve Golf Course are without power.

The large Danville outage began at 7:05 a.m. Monday, though other parts of Danville and Pleasanton have been without power since Sunday, according to PG&E. The utility did not provide a reason or planned restoration time.

A total of 494 customers just south of the Morgan Territory Regional Park have been without power since 12:51 p.m. Sunday due to a planned Public Safety Power Shutoff. PG&E initiated the first PSPS in high fire risk areas all over the Bay Area ahead of forecasted 60 mph gusts Monday. A Red Flag Warning is also in effect throughout the San Joaquin Valley until 8 p.m. Monday.

“Due to high winds and dry conditions, power in your area has been turned off to help prevent a wildfire. Once weather has improved, we will begin inspecting power lines and equipment for possible damage. Power will be restored as soon as it is safe to do so,” PG&E said in a statement.
