This Thursday,Ā plans for the Danville Hotel Territory design are up for review at Town Hall.Ā While the town moves forward withĀ the project, let's takeĀ a quick look back at the Silver Dollar Room.
The hotel wasĀ built in 1965 asĀ part of an attempt to create a tourist attraction covering the blockĀ withĀ frontier-style shopsĀ by ownerĀ Russell Glenn beginning in the 1950s.
"The shops were controversial as some of the residents thought it looked more like a carnival attraction than a historical building," reads a bookletĀ written on the history of the Danville Hotel provided byĀ the Museum of the San Ramon Valley.
Thursday's meeting begins at 5:30 in the conference room atĀ Town Hall.
