Vice Mayor Robert Storer Announces Re-Election Bid

DANVILLE, CA — Danville Vice Mayor Robert Storer launched his bid for re-election, campaigning on a platform of public safety, fiscal responsibility, and preserving Danville’s small-town character.

“I have always been a strong advocate for Danville and a leader you can count on,” Storer said in a campaign statement. “I would be honored to continue serving our community and respectfully ask for your vote on November 3.”

Storer has lived in Danville for 37 years, and was a member of the Planning Commission from 2001 to 2009. He has been a member of the Danville Town Council since 2009, and served three terms as mayor, most recently in 2023. He has also served on a number of different boards and committees, including the town’s Finance Committee, the council liaison to the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, the All Wars Memorial Board, and the Honorary Sheriff’s Association of Alameda County.

In his opening announcement, Storer listed a number of priorities:

• Supporting law enforcement to help keep Danville the safest city in California (an official SafeWise designation it received six times)
• Maintaining a balanced budget and healthy reserves
• Preserving and protecting the town’s 43% by not building on hillsides
• Supporting local businesses, schools, veterans, and the Chamber of Commerce

In November, the seats of Storer and Karen Stepper are up for election. In April, Stepper announced that she would not seek re-election after 24 years on the Town Council and over 45 years of work in the community. The deadline to file papers is Aug. 7.
