WATCH: Hiker Who Fell 30-60 Ft. At Mt. Diablo Rock City Rescued
Several agencies worked together Sunday to rescue a 19-year-old who fell from Mt. Diablo's Rock City.

DANVILLE, CA — The California Highway Patrol, San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District, and California State Parks worked together to rescue a 19-year-old hiker who fell 30-60 feet in Mt. Diablo State Park.
At around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, CHP’s H-30 helicopter hovered above Sentinel Rock on Mt. Diablo, where the hiker had fallen and sustained major injuries. A San Ramon Valley Fire Helicopter Rescue Technician was lowered from the helicopter, while crews from Valley Fire and State Parks helped rescue the victim.

After crews were able to rescue the victim, he was hoisted into the helicopter, transferred to a nearby REACH medical helicopter, and flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
The incident is under investigation by California State Park Rangers.
