I am committed to working for quality public educational programs that allow each child to reach their full potential. A public education has allowed me to pursue a career that I’m passionate about: veterinary medicine. Our schools must play a central role in allowing each child to discover their own passion and equip them with the tools for success. I am the proud parent of two DJUSD students who are in the process of discovering their own unique talents and passions.

I have been a university educator for 30 years and know firsthand the tremendous amount of work that teaching entails. I have been involved in curricular and teaching assessment at leading veterinary schools and am active in our District and community. I have been a member of the District’s Parcel Tax Oversight Committee, Local Control Accountability Plan Professional Development Team, and the Career and Technical Education/STEAM Advisory Committee. I have facilitated a partnership between the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine and DHS. As a community member, I am on the Board of the Explorit Science Center and its Program Committee. I also actively participate on the Youth Services Committee of the Davis Sunrise Rotary Club.

As a Davis School Board Trustee I would work:

• to foster an open and transparent culture.
• to foster a commitment to academic excellence for all students coupled with a safe and supportive learning environment.
• to attract and retain quality teachers in an increasingly competitive hiring environment.
• to work for effective and sustainable partnerships with the wealth of potential partners in our community.
• to be open to new ideas and educational innovation.
• to have programs that are evidence and outcome driven.
• to work smart with limited resources.

Yo estoy comprometido a trabajar para los programas de educación pública de calidad que permiten a cada niño a alcanzar su máximo potencial. Una educación pública me ha permitido seguir una carrera que me apasiona: la medicina veterinaria. Nuestras escuelas deben desempeñar un papel central en permitir a cada niño a descubrir su propia pasión y darles las herramientas para el éxito. He sido un educador universitario durante 30 años y sé de primera mano la enorme cantidad de trabajo que conlleva la enseñanza. He estado involucrado en la evaluación curricular y la enseñanza en las escuelas veterinarias y estoy activo en nuestro distrito y la comunidad. He sido miembro del Comité de Supervisión del Impuesto sobre Parcelas del Distrito, el comite de Desarrollo Profesional de Responsabilidad y Control Local, y el Comité de la Carrera y Educación Técnica / STEAM. He facilitado una asociación entre la UCD Escuela de Medicina Veterinaria y el DHS. Como miembro de la comunidad, estoy en la Junta del Centro de Ciencias de Explorit y su Comité de Programa. 我在大学里做了30多年的教育工作，对教师所需承担的繁重的工作有着切身经历和体会。我在参与兽医学院课程的设计，编辑和制定教员互相评估的工作之余，也多次积极参与我们社区和学区的活动。我曾担任学区的“地块税”检察委员会委员, “地方责任控制计划”专业发展小组成员、以及“职业技术教育/科学技术工程艺术数学”（CTE/STEAM）顾问委员会委员。我促成了加州大学戴维斯分校兽医学院和戴维斯高中的合作，这个项目在Davis是前所未有的。我目前还是戴维斯科学探索中心（Explorit Science Center）的执行委员会委员和戴维斯朝阳扶轮社(Sunrise Rotary Club)青年服务委员会委员。

如果荣幸地成为戴维斯学区委员会委员之一，我将在以下几方面努力：
