Tickets are $10 per person and in addition to an entertaining semi-pro women's soccer match there will be bounce houses, food trucks, opportunity to meet the players after the game, and other halftime contests and prizes!!! The theme for this game is fright night so bring out your favorite halloween costumes and be ready to cheer on the team!!

For one year Robin Greenfield is foraging every bite of his food and medicine. A year without grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies or even a garden. Nature is his garden!
As part of his current West coast tour, Robin will arrive in Davis on Tuesday June 9th. That evening commencing at 6pm, it will be my pleasure to introduce him to you, at the Davis Friends Meetinghouse - 345 L St., Davis. This event is free to all. Though, any size donations are greatly appreciated.
He is traveling to our community to share his foraging journey and celebrate the individuals and organizations in our community working for a more resilient, local food system. He will also share about the 1 Million Community Fruit Trees Initiative and invite us to get involved in this grassroots collaborative effort in food sovereignty.

Are you a musician who's always wanted to be in a band but never had the chance or thought you could be? Or are you already in a band and want more strategies and techniques to take your musicianship to the next level? Whatever your musical background, this workshop is for you! As an experienced master class instructor, Richard knows how to bring folks of varying levels of experience together so newer players never feel left out or confused, and more advanced guitarists are never bored or restrained to slow down for the beginner. Under Richard’s direction, we will ‘create a band’ on the spot with a combination of rhythms, fingerpicking, and a touch of music theory. You’ll learn how to: join and exit the group, listen to yourself and each other, vary your dynamic attack, play with your eyes closed, follow your breath, and release body tension. He’ll also experiment with different instrumental voicings with the use of a capo to create a layered, symphonic sound. You’ll leave the workshop knowing you gained valuable new skills and contributed to making some beautiful noise with others who love the guitar too.
Skills Needed: Some experience with a few basic chords and strumming. Barre chords and fingerpicking are helpful but not required.
What to Bring: A guitar or ukulele. Optional but helpful: tuner, capo, pencil, and paper. Handout materials will be provided.
Teacher: Never one to settle for the boring or mundane, Richard Gilewitz surprises audiences with his hilariously eccentric vision of the world and its inhabitants alongside breathtaking fingerstyle artistry on the 6- and 12-string guitar. Named one of the top fingerstyle guitarists of all time, Richard invariably captivates listeners with uniquely emotional interpretations of romping knuckle busters and contemplative classical tunes reimagined for steel strings. He credits his ability to pull the deepest breath out of a tune to having studied for decades with a classical guitarist, who was himself taught by a violinist who played alongside Albert Einstein. That is Richard in a nutshell…unusual, unique, surprising, and a master of fingerstyle guitar.

Internationally acclaimed fingerstyle guitarist Richard Gilewitz will appear live at Watermelon Music on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 7:30 PM-9:30 PM, as part of his album release tour supporting his tenth studio recording, GILEWITZ.&nbsp;
Widely regarded for his virtuoso fingerstyle technique and engaging stage presence, Gilewitz has toured internationally for more than three decades, earning praise for performances that move seamlessly between classical, blues, folk, jazz, and rock traditions. His repertoire spans from Bach to Zeppelin, delivered with technical mastery and a storyteller’s charm. DigitalDreamDoor has ranked him among the Top 100 Greatest Acoustic Guitar Players of All Time.
Gilewitz has performed at major festivals and venues worldwide, including the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and has opened for artists such as Warren Zevon, America, Leo Kottke, Steve Morse, and The Little River Band, as well as comedians including Richard Lewis and Louie Anderson. Guitar legend Leo Kottke recorded one of Gilewitz’s original compositions, retitling it Echoing Gilewitz in his honor.
In addition to his performance career, Gilewitz is a respected educator and creator of instructional materials for TrueFire and Mel Bay Publications, and is the founder of Gillacamp Guitar and Ukulele Camp. His recent appearances include repeated invitations to perform at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, where he drew the largest audience in the venue’s summer concert series history.
