City Of Davis: Paving Improvement Update Week Of 9.13.21 - F St Striping, Covell Corner Closures

The annual pavement improvement project is progressing nicely! This year, many of the areas receiving pavement treatments are used by many residents and visitors, so we are sending out this noticing on social media citywide. In addition, paper noticing is being delivered to affected residents and businesses.

STRIPING ON F ST

Striping on F St on Friday, 9/10, was postponed due to rain. It is rescheduled for Monday, 9/13, and no parking signs will be posted for that date.

CONCRETE WORK ON COVELL CORNERS

Concrete work at intersection corners will take place the week of 9/13 at the following locations:

• Covell Blvd and Catalina Ave (south side and NE corner)
• Covell Blvd and Hanover Dr
• Covell Blvd and Oak Ave
• Covell Blvd and Sycamore Ln (south side)

The concrete work at Oak Ave starts on Monday, 9/13, after school start time. The work will continue through Saturday, 9/18, and through the following week of 9/20.

The corner work closes the crosswalks and bike paths at these intersections. The road for drivers remains open with some lane shifts and shoulder closures. 

Pedestrians and bicyclists heading west on Covell Blvd will want to avoid the Oak Ave & Covell Blvd intersection and get on the bike path on F St or Covell Park to Community Park or proceed to 14th St depending on their destinations. The bike lane on Covell Blvd is open at all other points.

For pedestrians or cyclists traveling east on Covell, please use Alvarado Ave. that connects to the Covell Park and Community Park and runs into F St. 

CRACK SEALING & NO PARKING ZONES

Crack sealing will begin next Tuesday, 9/14, and will continue through Friday, 9/17. This activity will require no parking in zones on the following streets:
• Alta Loma St
• Alvarado Ave east of Catalina Dr
• Arlington Blvd between Calavares Ave and Shasta Dr
• Bella Casa St
• Cantrill Dr between Fifth St and Second St
• Chiles Rd between Dave Pelz Overcrossing and Cowell Blvd
• Coolidge St between Amador Ave and Alameda Ave
• Cowell Blvd between Schmeiser Ave and 5201 Cowell Blvd
• Decatur Ct
• East Eighth St between 2317 E. Eighth St to 2418 E. Eighth St
• Emerald Bay Dr between Rainier St and Danbury St
• Grande Ave between F St and 275 Grande Ave
• Lillard Ave between 3612 Lillard Ave and Ohlone St
• Montgomery Ave between Danbury St and Regatta Dr
• Rockwell Dr between Moore Blvd (East) and Moore Blvd (West)
• Second St between Pole Line Rd overcrossing and Target
• Vista Way between Washoe St and El Macero Dr

DIGGING WITH NO PARKING ZONES AND LANE CLOSURES

Digging work will be happening next week starting at Arlington and Coolidge on Monday, 9/13. This activity will require no parking zones and localized lane or intersection closures.

Digging locations and work dates are as follows:
• Wednesday, 9/15 – Montgomery Ave
• Thursday, 9/16– Vista Way, Decatur Ct, and Cowell Blvd
• Friday, 9/17 – Emerald Bay Dr
