Davis Stampede To Honor Fallen Police Officer Natalie Corona
"On 2/24, we will honor badge #224."

DAVIS, CA — Fallen Davis police Officer Natalie Corona will be honored and remembered at the 37th annual Davis Stampede, organizers of the popular annual 5K, 10K and half-marathon said in a recent announcement.
"This year the Davis Stampede falls on Feb. 24, or 2/24," officials with A Change of Pace Foundation — ACoP — said in a statement. "This date was also the badge number of Officer Corona (224) who enthusiastically assisted at some of our recent events. As part of ACoP’s tribute to Officer Corona, we plan to place her badge number, 224, on all Davis-based event T-shirts this year. We will also be making a contribution of $2.24 from each Davis Stampede entry to the Davis Police Department, which will be used at their discretion in her memory."
The organization went on to say that, like many in the Davis community, its leadership is "deeply saddened by the passing of Officer Natalie Corona."

ACoP said they continue to stand by the Davis Police Department's side with heavy hearts, the police department having played an integral role over the last 31 years helping ensure the safety of race participants.
"We feel it is vital to recognize and remember Natalie’s efforts and the impact she had on the department and community," ACoP officials said. "Given the fact that she enjoyed fitness, and especially running, we wish to symbolize the department's void by keeping her spirit alive at all of our Davis-based events for the entire 2019 season."
