Davis' Weekly Pick-Up of Yard Materials is Ending Soon

Starting next week, on-street yard material piles will be collected once a month.

DAVIS, CA -- December 12 to 15 is the last few days of the weekly pick-up of yard material piles by the City of Davis.

From December 16 to mid-October 2017, on-street yard material piles will be collected once a month -- during the week of the first Monday of each month. The next scheduled yard material pile pick-up week is the week of January 2, according to city officials.

Streets will continue to be swept the second full week of every month.

Yard materials piles should only be used for excess materials that cannot fit in the organics cart, according to the city. Leaves and grass should be placed in the organics cart. Yard material piles are not allowed in the downtown core area -- the area bounded by Fifth Street, the south side of First Street, the west side of B Street and the Union Pacific railroad tracks.
